The New South Wales Real Estate Institute reports that rental property vacancies in Sydney are tight due to excess demand and high maintaining prices. To concretize matters, Real Estate Institute NSW President Steve Martin said that the rental vacancy rate in the said city is at 1.3%.

The Australian Property Monitors reported that Coonamble in New South Wales have the most affordable suburbs with an average home value of $77,500. Following it on the list are Coober Pedy and Fisherman Bay in South Australia with averages of $81,500 and $92,000 respectively.

Last Minute Dash for New Home Buyers

Due to the last minute rush by initial home buyers to avail a generous housing grant in September, home loan demands increased by up to five per cent. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, owner-tenant home loans rose to 5.1 per cent or 65,505 for the said month.
